Welcome at the Fire Test laboratory Hoch!
Before a building product may be distributed on the market or installed in a public building, it has to be examined and classified in terms of its flammability.
We test, inspect and certify according to the following standards:
| DIN 4102-1 | Fire behavior of building materials and building components – Part 1: Building materials |
| DIN 4102-14 | Fire behavior of building materials and building components – Part 14: Floorings and floor coatings |
We also test and classify according to the following standards:
| EN 13823 | (SBI)(= single burning item) |
| EN 11925-2 | (Pilot light/flame - Kleinbrenner) |
| EN ISO 1182 | (750°C-Oven) |
| EN 1716 | (Calorific potential) |
| EN 9239-1 | (Floor testing / radiant panel) |
| DIN 4102-7 and DIN V ENV 1187 (roof test) | |
| EN 13501-1 | |
| EN 13501-5 | |
If a building product is used with reference to its building material class, the manufacturer is required to hand out a copy of the proof of usability AND the certificate of conformity to the builder/constructor.
Technical approvals acc. the german building laws are:
- abP (general appraisal certificate)
- admission or
- agreement in individual cases
Certificates of conformity may only be issued for positively inspected products.
More detailed information on the approach in the individual procedures may be found on the pages Testing, Inspection and Certification.
